How did you get into bowls?

My brother took up bowls through a school programme, he then invited my Dad up for a game. A few years later, aged 7, I gave it a go and the rest is history.

One thing that you enjoy most about bowls.

For me it’s the fiercely competitive yet friendly nature of our sport. Once a game is finished, regardless of how high the stakes are, a majority of bowlers are happy to sit down after and have a drink and a chat with you, win or lose.

One bit of advice that you would give to a new bowler.

As well as putting as much time into the sport as possible, make sure you are in the right frame of mind before every game you play. You would be surprised how much of a difference it makes to your performance!
