Bowls HQ Season Awards

Welcome to the Bowls HQ Awards.

The next Bowls HQ Awards will be for the 2024 Outdoor Bowling Season, with the key dates for your diary below.

We are delighted to announce for our inaugural awards the launch of four main award categories:

Bowl’n d’Or

This award is given to the outstanding bowler over the past outdoor bowling season.

The shortlist will be picked with consideration of the following:

·         Performance at Club and County level

·         County and International recognition during the season

·         Qualification for the Leamington National Finals

·         Performance at the Leamington National Finals

·         Titles won during the season

·         Notable results or achievements during the season

·         Feedback from Players and Selectors

A shortlist of 8 players will be chosen by the Bowls HQ Judging Panel, before being put to a general vote.

The winner will receive an engraved trophy.

Golden Bowler

This award is given to the outstanding young bowler over the past outdoor bowling season.

The shortlist will be picked with consideration of the following:

·         Call-up to County Senior sides

·         International recognition during the season

·         Outstanding individual performance

·         Qualification for the Leamington National Finals

·         Signs of Considerable / Continued Improvement

·         Notable results or achievements during the season

·         Feedback from Players and Selectors

A shortlist of 8 players will be chosen by the Bowls HQ Judging Panel, before being put to a general vote.

The winner will receive an engraved trophy.

Bowls Personality of the Year

This award is given to the outstanding bowls personality over the past outdoor bowling season.

Examples of eligible personnel include the following:

·         An outstanding coach that helps new members

·         Somebody that has leant their time to a club project

·         An active ambassador promoting the sport

·         Committee members who have done fantastic work

·         Somebody that has put forward innovative ideas

·         Member that has triumphed during adversity

·         Or just anybody that goes their time to help their club!

All those shortlisted will receive a Certificate Commendation, with the winner receiving an engraved trophy.

Bowls HQ welcomes nominations for this award.

Bowls Club of the Year

This award is given to the outstanding bowls club over the past outdoor bowling season.

The shortlist will be picked with consideration of the following:

·         Bowling Successes over the past season

·         Community and Local Area engagement

·         New initiatives to attract New Members

·         Club Improvement projects during the season

·         Pathway for promoting younger participation

·         Inclusion and Diversity of club environment

·         A forward-thinking and progressive ethos

·         Adoption of new and innovative ideas for the sport

·         Having outstanding facilities that season (e.g. green)

A shortlist of 8 clubs will be chosen by the Bowls HQ Judging Panel, before being put to a general vote.

All shortlisted clubs will receive a Certificate Commendation, with the winning club receiving an engraved trophy to display in their club.
